There are two windings in a single-phase two winding transformer. The one which is connected to the voltage source and creates the magnetic flux called the primary winding, and the second winding called the secondary in which a voltage is induced as a result of mutual induction.

Sourceway strictly manages the winding process to effectively reduce transformer losses.
Core

Customize its design according to your needs.

The four main types of core construction are wound cores, stamped laminations, butt-lapped cores, and step-lapped miter cores.

Cores can be made from several different materials including amorphous steel, solid iron core, amorphous metals, ferrite ceramics, laminated magnetic cores, carbonyl iron cores, and silicon steel.

High accuracy Laminations ensure tight-fitting joints with minimal gaps to minimize core loss, exciting current and sound levels.

Oil Tank

Height and length are according to the customer’s specifications and fins can be plain or embossed. tank can be Mild Steel or Stainless Steel.

All fabricated steel tanks internally & externally cleaned thoroughly of all scales & rust by sand blasting/ shot blasting. A coat of Zinc chromate primer paint is immediately applied to all external surfaces. This anticorrosive paint has rust inhibitive properties and excellent chemical resistance. Two coats of glossy, oil & weather resisting, not fading paint of grey.

Sourceway has a state-of-art in-house facility for manufacturing transformer tanks. All tanks are made of high-quality steel and can withstand vacuum as specified by the international standards and the customer.
Core And Assembly

The Insulating papers are checked for high dielectric strength, good ageing properties and moisture retardation.the wood is also used in top and bottom for mechanical strength.

Core Coil Assembly and Tap changer connection are made prior to the dying process. Ratio, magnetic process and vector group is checked. Scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
Drying of Active Part
The core and coil assembly is dried in vacuum drying oven for a specified time to remove moisture from insulating material like pressboard, paper, wood, insulating tape etc. The drying time-period depends on quantity of insulating material, thereby which depends on transformer rating and voltage class of transformer.
Main Assembly
Fittings like drain valves, HV& LV Bushings, conservator, oil level indicator, and explosion vent are fitted in the tanks.

The Core-coil assembly is then placed into the tank and properly locked up.

Pure filtered transformer oil is filled in the tank to immerse the assembly only.

Connections of primary and secondary to the terminal bushings are made.

The tap changer handle for the ratio switch is fitted, wherever required.

Transformers are filled with filtered transformer oil under vacuum to the required level. After the tanking process, testing is done to ensure transformers are leak free.
Testing

Once the transformer is tanked up and the tank sealed, then the testing of the transformer commences. The routine transformer tests carried out include

Transformer winding resistance measurement.

Transformer ratio test.

Transformer vector group test.

Measurement of impedance voltage/short circuit impedance (principal tap) and load loss (Short circuit test).

Measurement of no-load loss and current (Open circuit test)

Measurement of insulation resistance.

Dielectric tests of a transformer.

Tests on on-load tap-changer.

Oil pressure test on the transformer to check against leakages past joints and gaskets.
